Today was the 3rd and final day of the UK Open 2011 in Bournemouth. We enojoyed the dancing of the Amateur Ballroom and Professional Latin dancers today.
No surprises in Amateur Ballroom competition - the winners were Andrea Ghigiarelli & Sara Andracchio who since the 1st Jan 2011 represent England. They danced beautifully and certainly deserved the title! The second place went to IDSF World Standard vice-champions Emanuel Valeri & Tania Kehlet from Denmark, and the third to the Germans, the current World Standard bronze medallists Simone Segatori & Annette Sudol. The last competition of this fabulous festival was Professional Latin. The final round was very closely watched by everybody - the audience was aware of a battle between Michal Malitowski & Joanna Leunis from Poland and Riccardo Cocchi & Yulia Zagoruitchenko from USA. Both couples danced beautifully, but Michal and Joanna found some extra strength! When Philip Jackson read the names the audience held their breath, there was a complete silence. In the end Michal Malitowski & Joanna Leunis were announced the winners, with Riccardo Cocchi & Yulia Zagoruitchenko on the second place. Franco Formica & Oxana Lebedew from Germany finished on the third position.
